Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 24, 2026

The Builder of the Real World website (thebuilderoftherealworld.com) is run by author Chip Christy and his family. We collect as little information as we can, and we never sell it. This page explains what we collect and how we use it.

WHAT WE COLLECT

- If you join our email list: your email address and, if you choose to give it, your first name. That's all. We don't ask for last names, addresses, or phone numbers. (Some people who signed up earlier also picked an "I'm a…" answer, such as Parent or Teacher. We keep that answer with their subscription.)

- If you email us: your email address and whatever you choose to write.

- When you visit: like nearly every website, ours automatically receives basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser, device type, and the pages you view. Cookies and similar tools help the site work and help us count visits.

Our free activity pages never require any personal information to download.

HOW WE USE IT

- To send you occasional emails about the book series, new free activities, and launch news.

- To greet you by name in those emails, if you gave us your first name.

- To run the website, keep it secure, protect our sign-up form from spam, and see which pages are popular.

We never sell, rent, or trade your information, and we don't show ads on this site.

SERVICES WE USE

A few trusted services help us run this site. They receive only the information they need to do their job:

- Kit (kit.com) manages our email list and sends our emails, including noting whether an email is opened or a link is clicked. Kit's privacy policy: https://kit.com/privacy

- GoDaddy hosts our website and may provide basic visitor statistics, which can include Google Analytics.

- Google reCAPTCHA protects our sign-up form from spam bots. Its use is subject to Google's Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy and Terms of Service at https://policies.google.com/terms

Like most web services, Google and our other providers may recognize your browser when you visit other websites that also use them. Their own privacy policies explain how. We don't allow advertising networks to collect information on our site.

Links to stores (such as Amazon) and social media (Instagram and Facebook) take you to those sites, where their own privacy policies apply.

We may also share information if the law requires it.

KIDS AND OUR ACTIVITY PAGES

Our book is written for kids ages 7–12, and our free activity pages go with it. Kids never need to give us personal information to use them, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Our email list is for parents and other adults.

On every page, including the activity pages, the basic technical information described above is used only to run the site, keep it secure, and count visits. It is never used to advertise to anyone, to build a profile, or to contact anyone.

If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please email us and we'll delete it promptly.

YOUR CHOICES

- Unsubscribe anytime using the link at the bottom of every email.

- Email us to see, correct, or delete the information we have about you. We'll respond within 30 days.

- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

- Our site does not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.

HOW LONG WE KEEP IT

We keep your email address, and your first name if you gave it, only while you're subscribed. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your information, we remove it from our list. Kit may keep a minimal record so it can honor your unsubscribe. Technical information is kept only as long as needed for the purposes above, then deleted on our providers' regular schedules.

SECURITY

We use well-known, reputable services and take reasonable steps to protect your information. No website or email system can be 100% secure.

CHANGES

If we update this policy, we'll post the new version here and change the effective date. If a change affects how we use your email address, we'll tell subscribers by email first.
