ABOUT the author/illustrator

From the songs he started writing in middle school to the pages of The Builder of the Real World, God has been Chip Christy's deepest inspiration. He and his wife, his friend since sixth grade and high school sweetheart, are raising four boys. Painting rocks, family music sessions, driveway basketball, hundreds of miles of hikes, every boy on the trail before he could walk—Chip's life happens alongside his family.

Chip's oldest son spent a year asking for Minecraft, and a week home sick finally got him a "yes." It wasn't long before he got stuck in a hole, so Chip tried to help... and got stuck in a deeper hole. They had to work their way out together, which is how a guy who didn't play video games ended up playing Minecraft.

If his kids were impressed by the world of Minecraft, Chip figured, they should look around. The real world is a chance to experience true awe—of the One who built it. That's why he wrote this book, with his boys as editors.
